Vibe: Page Kennedy Recruits Marsha Ambrosius For “Torn Pages” Single
Do not try to squeeze this man into one category — it just won’t work. Actor and emcee, Page Kennedy, received an assist from crooner Marsha Ambrosius on his forlorn single, “Torn Pages,” the title track from PG’s forthcoming debut album.
On the new single, the Detroit native spills gripping lyrics on fatherhood, broken relationships, sex addiction and other heavy subjects. “I done had more porn stars than Vin Diesel drove in foreign cars/And it still wasn’t enough for me/Stay single intentionally, because I hate liars, and the stress will be too much to cheat,” Kennedy raps on the song.
Page, a former battle rapper, is very comfortable with being vulnerable on the mic. He uses his music as a diary for fans to connect to his inner most thoughts.
“Torn Pages is a look into my life in the most transparent way possible. I’m dealing with my demons,” Page tells VIBE via e-mail. I talk about things that I have yet to completely deal with myself. I used this on an album as therapy for myself.” Page explains. “No matter how rich or famous someone is you never know the struggles they have going on internally.”
The upcoming artist’s debut album is slated for March 10th release date, and is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
